In 1904, local philanthropist Mary Clark Thompson founded F.F. Thompson Hospital to bring excellent health care to this community. Thompson Health's vision remains the same today - 100 years later - to bring excellent health care to the people of the Finger lakes. This is our mission, this is our legacy and this is the guiding force that shapes our future.

Magnet

The Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing practice and adherence to national standards for the organization and delivery of nursing services. It is the highest level of recognition the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) affords to organized nursing services in the national and international health care communities.




 


American Heart/Stroke Association’s
Get With The GuidelinesSM


The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognizes F.F. Thompson Hospital for achieving at least two years of 85% or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines® program quality indicators to improve quality of patient care and outcomes in addition to achieving IV rt_PA door-to-needle times <60 minutes in 50% or more of applicable acute ischemic stroke patients (minimum of 6) during one calendar year..




  • 2010 Magnet Redesignation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • 2007 - F.F. Thompson Hospital recertified a Magnet designated hospital for nursing excellence
  • 2007 - Thompson Health’s Department of Physical Therapy awarded the prestigious Outstanding Center for Physical Therapy Clinical Education Award. This prestigious Award is given to only two clinics in all of New York State and New Jersey. “The instructors at Thompson uniformly provide an excellent learning environment for students on all levels of clinical experience (early to late) that fosters strong clinical decision-making and clinical skills. Clinical instructors develop individualized education programs for students to enhance their level of knowledge and skill; these include teaching sessions incorporating role plays, discussions, and traditional inservice format. The Therapists model professionalism in their interactions with other health care workers, students, patients, and significant others and continuously strive to develop their own knowledge and skills.”
  • 2006 - New York State Stroke Designed Center
  • Nov 2004 - F.F. Thompson becomes an ANCC Magnet designated Hospital for nursing excellence
  • 2004 - Thompson Health celebrates a Century of Caring
  • 2003 - Thompson Health Intensive Care Unit nurse receives the 2003 Distinguished Service Award from the Healthcare Association of New York State; She is also nominated by her peers as Nurse of the Year for F.F. Thompson Hospital
  • 2003 - Thompson Physician receives a Rochester Business Journal Health Care Achievement Award Distinction
  • 2003 - President/CEO Linda Janczak awarded the American Health Association’s Shirley Ann Munroe Leadership Development Award
  • 2003 - The Continuing Care Center receives a “AAA” rating by CareScout.com
  • 1999 - Thompson Health receives the Governor’s Award for Excellence by the Empire State Advantage Organization
